Personal Project: Wild Cities AR

📱 AR story app

💡 Wild Cities AR is an immersive, voice-activated storytelling app for iOS and Android. It boosts kids’ eco-empathy by empowering them to develop their virtual forest right in their backyards - or living rooms. Climate change, deforestation, and urbanization affect the world in ways that impact us all. Still, the loss of natural habitats and wildlife is invisible to many urban kids. Wild Cities AR allows kids to experience nature anywhere, teaching them about urban ecology, inspiring them to take responsibility for local wildlife, and empowering them to help fight climate change. By helping restore The Magic Tree, kids will discover their forests' hidden secrets and learn how to work together to care for our planet.

Wild Cities AR was created by Toronto’s design and experience team at Jam3 in collaboration with a-Bahn, the Canadian Media Fund, the country of Luxembourg, and the City of Toronto.

💡 A beautiful project between Jam3 and the National Film Board of Canada that shows our everyday experiences during Covid-19 - a collective diary of what we’ve felt during the “new normal.” The interactive website uses Twitter data to illustrate our thoughts and feelings during this unprecedented challenge. We hope we learn together so this pain doesn’t go to waste.

Google Cloud 2018 WEF Installation (Davos)

👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏾 Multi-user installation using motors, LED lights, and screens

💡 Experiential Installation for Google Cloud at Davos's 2018 World Economic Forum. The installation required two or more people to simultaneously hold and press the two ends of a circuit to activate it. When activated, the installation entirely comes to life, where small floating clouds light up, the hot air balloons rise to the sky, and the World Villages on each screen turn from a dormant to a fully vibrant and active state.

🔗 Case Study

Muse (Band) A.I. Lyric Video

📹 AI (before AI was a thing)

💡 A.I. generated lyric videos daily using footage from YouTube for Muse's latest single, Dig Down. The video was updated daily with a newly scraped video that contained the words to the song; the AI tool then strung it all together and timed the lyrics with the background music to create an oddly satisfying rendition of Muse's tune. Each lyric is spoken by a different person and is highlighted with subtitles to help the whole thing hang together. Videos included clips from people like Donald Trump, Caitlyn Jenner and Ellen Degeneres, interspersed with a grid of cable news channels between spoken lyrics.
